Former England and Kenya Sevens coach Mike Friday believes that the experience of Pio Tuwai and Setefano Cakau will make a huge difference to the Vodafone Fiji 7s side.

Friday applauded the Fijian style of play, with their offloading flood attacking game.

Friday said that the arrival of Setefano Cakau during the Japan 7s final was timely for Fiji while he may not be as fit yet as he was, he is still a big leader and talisman that got a big score.

He added that Pio Tuwai’s high risk offloading, confidence and belief to play the Fijian way just gave them a good chance in defending the Hong Kong 7s title.

After assessing the injuries, Ryan has decided to replace Leo Naikasau with Joeli Lutumailagi while Samuela Saqiwa will field in for Jasa Veremalua.

He believes that Lutumailagi has the pace to cover for Samisoni Viriviri and Osea Kolinisau in the backline.

The Hong Kong 7s starts this Friday.

On Saturday, Fiji will take on Wales in their first pool match at 1.26am, then Sri Lanka at 5.24pm and Kenya in their last pool match at 11.16pm.

On Sunday, the Cup quarterfinals will start 3.28pm, Cup semis will start at 7.52pm and the Cup final will be at 10.25pm.
