More people migrated from Fiji for greener pastures last year when compared to 2007.

The Fiji Islands Bureau of Statistics report shows that a total of 4899 people emigrated last year from January to November when compared to 4397 in 2007 which is a difference of 502.

The statistics show that more Indo-Fijians migrated in comparison to indigenous Fijians and other races and in November alone last year, 238 Indo-Fijians left the country compared to 40 Fijians.

According to the records, many of the people who migrated were professional workers, legislators, senior officials, managers and technicians.
