A 46yr old Mexican national who was arrested with a substantial amount of Cocaine from a hotel in Nadi was sentenced to 8 years imprisonment by the Lautoka High Court on Tuesday.
Graceila Bravo who was charged with importation and possession of Cocaine was handed down the sentence by High Court Judge Justice, Daniel Gounder.
Justice Gounder while sentencing her said that facts revealed that it was well organized trafficking of Cocaine and Bravo travelled from Mexico to Argentina where she was given the cocaine.
The court heard she strapped the cocaine to her body and travelled to Fiji through a flight from Auckland.
Justice Gounder also said that the drugs were properly packaged in plastic cubes and numbered.
