Methodist Church Assistant General Secretary, Reverend Tuikilakila Waqairatu said the interim governments proposed People's Charter should not be called the People's Charter.
Speaking at the meeting hall in Naduri, Macuata during the Methodist Church conference today, Reverend Waqairatu said the interim administration does not have the people's mandate to propose such changes, since this work needs to be carried out by a government elected by the people of Fiji.
Reverend Waqairatu also clarified to the church leaders today that although some people criticize them on decisions reached by church leaders at the headquarters in Suva, they have the mandate to speak on behalf of the church as earlier agreed.
