The Methodist Church of Fiji has welcomed the move taken by the Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama to meet with the church elders next week.

Acting General Secretary, Rev Tevita Nawadra said they hope to have dialogue with the Prime Minister on the two issues he highlighted this week, that there would be no Annual Conference till 2014 and the issue of those church ministers who were on the Fiji Police Special Branch payroll in 2006.

Nawadra added that the Methodist hierarchy would like to hear from Bainimarama on the real reason why he has decided to stop the Annual Conference from happening until 2014.
