It is impossible to run the Methodist Church in Fiji and Rotuma from only the $10 church levy per head according to President Reverend Tuikilakila Waqairatu.

Speaking to Fijivillage Waqairatu said they are trying to communicate with members that the cost of living has risen and that they need to increase the contribution each person is giving to the church.

Tuikilakila added with the levy income not being enough to supplement for their operations, they need to look at the option of using Church land for commercial development.

Meanwhile, Reverend Tevita Nawadra was appointed the new General Secretary while Reverend Epineri Vakadewavosa made the deputy.

The final day of conference is tomorrow with the election of the Church’s vice president to take place.
