The Methodist Church of Fiji is now planning to meet with the President, Ratu Josefa Iloilo this week to try and convince him that majority of their Church members do not support the draft Peoples Charter.

General Secretary, Reverand Tuikilakila Waqairatu said the figures given by the NCBBF team that 92.5 percent of the people support the draft charter is a total lie as their findings showed that most indigenous Fijian people are against the charter.

Waqairatu added they will compile a report this week before they will arrange for a visit to the President to show the figures they have on those who do not support the Peoples Charter.

He added from the forms they have collected show that 80 percent of the Methodists in the country are behind the Church's stance against the Charter.

On Friday NCBBF member Dhijendra Singh said the Draft People's Charter is now a public document and independent bodies can conduct consultations on the draft Peoples Charter if they wish to clarify the figures of the NCBBF that 92.5% people support it.
