Despite losing out to Samoa in the Bronze medal playoffs in 2003, the Mens' Basketball team is confident to improve its standings in this year's Pacific Games in ten days time.
Speaking to Village sports, head-coach Paul Whippy said that although the team has not had any build up matches against overseas teams, he believes they will do well.
Whippy said that the team has five players from the last SPG and most are existing players from the team that won the Gold in the Oceania Championships in 2002 in Tonga.
The last time the Mens team performed well in the Pacific Games was in 1987 when Fiji finished with the Silver medal.
