Mens Basketball quarters confirmed
Russia will play Lithuania at 1am this Thursday in the first quarterfinal while France will play Spain at 3.15am.
Brazil will play Argentina at 7am on Thursday while defending Champions, USA will play Australia at 9.15am in the last quarter-final.
The semifinals will be played on Saturday with the final to be played next Monday.
The final group matches were played this morning.
Looking at the results, Australia edged Russia 82-80, Lithuania beat Tunisia 76-63, France beat Nigeria 79-73, Great Britain beat China 90-58, Brazil beat Spain 88-82 and USA beat Argentina 126-97.
In the womens competition, the four quarter-finals will start 1am tomorrow where USA will play Canada, Australia will take on China, Turkey will meet Russia and France will play Czech (Check) Republic.
Grenada has won their first ever Olympics medal through Kirani James in the 400 metres final.
James finished in a time of 43.94sec.
Since 2008, James has won the Commonwealth Youth gold, World Youth gold, the World Juniors, World Championships and now the Olympics.
Meanwhile, Felix Sanchez of Dominican Republic won a surprise 400m hurdles gold today.
He dedicated victory to his late grandmother, having run with a photo of her pinned inside his vest.
In soccer, the two semifinals in the mens soccer competition will be played tomorrow morning.
At 4am, Mexico will play Japan and at 6.45am Brazil will take on Korea.
Meanwhile, China still sits at top of the medal tally with 31 gold, 19 silver and 14 bronze, USA is second with 29 gold, 15 silver and 19 bronze while Great Britain is third with 18 gold, 11 silver and 11 bronze.
