Police are looking for three men who allegedly killed a security officer at a sawmill in Savusavu between 11pm to 12am last night.

The security officer was guarding the sawmill compound when three masked men armed with cane knives and pinch bars attacked him. They allegedly tied his hands and leg and assaulted him.

The robbers then went up to the sawmill owner's office and assaulted the owner and also tied him up.

The robbers then walked away with $12,000 cash and other items.

The owner managed to untie himself and then went to look for the security guard who was motionless.

A team of detectives from Labasa and Savusavu are at the scene conducting investigations.

In another murder in the Northern division, Labasa Police are questioning a 25 year old Seaqaqa villager for allegedly assaulting a Lomaloma villager to death over the weekend.

Assistant Spokesperson, Sergeant Atunaisa Sokomuri has confirmed that the man was last seen involved in a fight with the deceased.
Today, some more people are also expected to be questioned in relation to the death while a post mortem is expected to take place.

The deceased who was attending a fundraising event was allegedly bashed up outside the Tong's nightclub in Labasa town.
