People are being urged to respect the individuals they live with in their community and help each other to prosper.

This call comes from Labasa Police after a group of men from Vunivutu, Wainikoro allegedly damaged the water pipe at the home of a 62 year old man who spent nearly all of his life trying to provide his family with tap water.

The cost of damage to the water pipe stands around $2000 and Police say the group of men had allegedly warned Prasad that they will damage his water pipes.

16 families from the area already have tap water supply and Prasad was the last family who had convinced the Mataqali to be included in the project.

Labasa Police say they will not take the matter lightly and will take those people to task who show no humanity to the poor in their community.
