Police have questioned and released the two men in relation to the firearm which was sold to a businessman on Christmas Eve.

Deputy Director Operations, SP Erami Raibe said they will now question some other people as they have received some new information in relation to the case.

Raibe said a team has been set up to investigate the case and they are now trying to establish as to who is the owner of the pistol.

Meanwhile, the Fiji Military Forces has already confirmed that the gun does not belong to the Military.

The Pistol was brought in by the shopkeeper at the Central Police Station on Wednesday last week which he bought on the streets for $200.

It was fully loaded and was in operational order.
