Three men of Tamaivua-i-wai appeared before Magistrate Vani Ravono charged with robbery with violence.

The court heard that Billy Qita, Joji Saiqa and Ilaisa Naca entered the house of a lawyer at Niranjan street in Tamavua in June last year.

The lawyer and his wife had just finished dinner and while she was washing the dishes the men forcefully opened the door, armed with cane knives and pinchbar. The three allegedly threatened and tied the woman's hands however she screamed and alerted her husband. The owner of the house was also tied to the door.

The three took assorted jewellery, mobiles, DVD player, laptop, cash, shoes and MP3 player all valued at $12,000.

The three maintain their not guilty plea and will reappear on the 16th of April this year.
