Close to 50,000 members of the Methodist Church of Fiji have shown their support to the church’s stance in opposing the draft People’s Charter according to the church executives.

General Secretary Reverend Tuikilakila Waqairatu said when the Church's standing committee met last Friday, the support from church members has been overwhelming with 31 divisions already giving in their forms while they are still waiting for the other 21 divisions.

Waqairatu added these 31 divisions they are still collecting forms from the different circuits and the numbers are expected to increase next week.

Most of the divisions who have not given in their forms are from the outer-islands and the Church has given them time to fill in their form and send it to their headquarters.
