Last year's Melbourne Cup winner, Viewed looks unlikely to claim the No.1 saddlecloth this year after being penalised by one kilogram yesterday for his win in the Caulfield Cup.

Viewed, who weighs in high up in the Melbourne Cup weights, has a new weight of 58kg, an increase of 5kg on his Cup winning weight of last year.

Racing Victoria Limited chief handicapper, Greg Carpenter said that the additional weight will have a greater impact on the performance of a horse high in the handicap.

The Melbourne Cup will be held on the first Tuesday of next month which falls on the 3rd of November.
