The role of women in policy decision making, peace building and the prevention of violent conflict is something we are aiming at strengthening.
FemLINKPACIFIC executive director Sharon Bhagwan Rolls said this is the basis of the Regional Steering Group meeting of Pacific members belonging to global partnership for prevention of armed conflict currently being held at the Peninsula Hotel in Suva.
Rolls said while it is welcoming to have women entering job markets that were normally male dominated, they are aiming to have women get more involved in policy making.
The meeting continues in Suva this afternoon.
