The Forum Ministerial Contact Group meeting with Interim Prime Minister, Commodore Frank Bainimarama and some of his cabinet ministers was fruitful according to the NZ Foreign Minister, Winston Peters.
After the two hour meeting at the PM's Office at Government Buildings, Peters said that the meeting went well and some serious issues were discussed.
The Contact Group is currently meeting with the Electoral Commission at the Elections office and at 2pm they are expected to be at Parliament, meeting the National Council for Building a Better Fiji Secretariat.
NCBBF Spokesperson, Filimoni Kau confirms they are looking forward to this important meeting from the high powered delegation.
The Contact group consists of Foreign Affairs Minister of Australia, Stephen Smith, his New Zealand counterpart Winston Peters, Samoan Prime Minister, Sailele Tuila'epa, the Tongan Prime Minister, Doctor Feleti Sevele and Tuvalu Communications and Tourism Minister, Tauke-lina Finikaso. The Contact Group is visiting Fiji to ensure that the country is on track to have elections in March next year as promised by Bainimarama in the Pacific Islands Leaders Forum in Tonga in October last year.
