Australia's heavyweight boxing champion Kali Meehan is hoping to get a shot at the WBA Heavyweight title by the end of this season.
Meehan who arrived into the country last night to be the chief guest at the Fiji Sports Council Awards tonight says he has been in touch with top boxing promoter to arrange his fight.
Meehan also has a message for our local boxers, if they want to be recognized worldwide.
Meehan says he's looking forward to the Awards night and meeting some of Fiji's top stars.
The Fiji Sports Council Awards night tonight will start at 6:30pm at the National Gymnasium, where top athletes will be honored with the Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year.
