During the flooding of Navua River on Tuesday, passersby noticed medical waste floating in the river, apparently dumped there by a cleanup crew at the hospital.
Photographs of the medical waste being dumped in the river have been sent to Fijivillage.
Doctor Ami Chand, the doctor in charge at the Health Headquarters said that they have not been informed about the incident but adds that if true, the offenders will be taken to task.
Meanwhile, the Interim Minister for Health and the Permanent Secretary both say that they haven't heard reports of this.
