Journalists have been challenged not to take their role for granted as they have the ability as a powerful profession to highlight the stories of the abuse and violence against women.
Speaking on World International Women's Day, Peter Emberson from the Pacific Conference of Churches said as a trained journalist he was taught to be objective adding he has also given due consideration to the difficult experiences faced by women.
Meanwhile, the Fiji Womens Rights Movement this week launched a radio campaign highlighting the importance of human rights, the rule of law and democracy.
