The media focus in the opening leg of the IRB 7s series is not with the Digicel Fiji 7s team and manager Sale Sorovaki believes it is the best possible start to their campaign.

Sorovaki who attended an official Dubai 7s press conference said that the media were mainly concerned about the other teams and it is good in a way as it does not put any unwanted pressure on the players.

He added that Fiji has a lot of new players in the team and it is important not to put too much pressure on them by promising the world on the outcome of their games.

Sorovaki said that New Zealand coach Gordon Tietjens thinks that Fiji is still the team to beat which is funny, coming from a team that just won the Commonwealth Games gold medal in Delhi and have won the IRB Series eight times since its inception in 1999 but he is playing mind games and trying to shift the focus on Fiji.

Fiji will kick-off their Dubai 7's campaign at 6.20pm tomorrow against Portugal.
