The Fiji Media Council is looking forward to meeting interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama on the standard of reporting by the local media.

Chairman Daryl Tarte told Fijivillage that media stakeholders met with interim Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum yesterday and the council was told that the interim government has seen progress in reporting by the local media however, some areas like balance and accuracy needs improvement. Tarte said the interim Attorney General also highlighted that the interim government is not intending to regulate the media.
