The Fiji Media Council will await the decision from the Interim Government in relation to a promulgation to establish a Media Tribunal.
Chairman Darly Tarte said he would only comment after sighting the promulgation.

Meanwhile the draft Charter includes the enactment of the Freedom of Information legislation and the establishment of a Media Tribunal. The recommendation to have a Media Tribunal came about after the NCBBF felt that self regulation by the media was ineffective.
