Blues captain Keven Mealamu has slammed Piri Weepu’s lack of form, saying that the former Hurricane has let his team down.

Mealamu has stated the-out-of-shape Weepu’s form was disappointing, as the team battle through a disastrous Super Rugby season.

Weepu has faced criticism lately for being noticeably overweight and unfit and has not been given a lot of game time this season.

The Blues captain also stressed that Weepu was frustrated at his inability to contribute more to the team.

Meanwhile, Blues coach, Pat Lam insists his Blues are a united team though he admits they are struggling to present a uniformed game plan.

Some off-field issues are also clouding the lack of on-field results.

Peter and Francis Saili were banned for two weeks for breaching team protocol and there were reports of drinking in Melbourne after the latest loss to the Rebels which has left the Blues in 14th place.

The Blues will play the Sharks at 7.35pm this Friday.
