Blues captain Keven Mealamu has revealed that even though he has now won a Rugby World Cup his hunger for Super Rugby titles is still strong.

Mealamu's primary focus at the moment is to restore some pride for the Blues who have gained a reputation for failing to live up to the expectation that their talent promises.

The Blues last won a Super Rugby title in 2003 when Mealamu was a prominent young hooker in a side that lost only one match on their way to their third title.

Ever since then the Blues have made appearances in the Super Rugby Semi finals but never quite managing to go all the way.

The Blues success bothers Mealamu even though he is still riding on the wave of Rugby World Cup success and he wants to go all the way in 2012.

In the opening game on Friday the Crusaders take on the Blues at Eden Park at 6.35pm.

At 8.40pm the Brumbies will face Western Force.
