Blues captain Keven Mealamu blamed his team’s poor execution and errors for their 23-29 loss to the Sharks last night in Super rugby.

The Blues have now lost six of their seven Super Rugby matches this year and are almost certainly out of the play offs.

Mealamu said his players were stringing together some good phases of play but let themselves down with poor execution.

The Sharks ended their tour with 11 points after victories over the Blues and Brumbies but losses against the Hurricanes and Waratahs with a bonus point.

In another match last night, Waratahs held off a stirring Western Force fightback to secure a 23-18 victory in Perth.

It’s the Waratahs third win in seven matches this season.

Meanwhile, at 7.35pm today, Crusaders will play Stormers and at 9.40pm, Brumbies will play Rebels.
