Melbourne Rebels flanker, Sean McMahon will do everything he can to impress Wallabies coach Michael Cheika and earn a first home start against England this Saturday night.

The Wallabies have lost star No.8 David Pocock for the rest of the three‑Test series after he fractured his eye socket in the Wallabies' 39‑28 loss to England.

McMahon made a late appearance off the bench in Brisbane which was his first Wallabies test in Australia.

Cheika has pledged to keep his options open for selection this week when considering who will play as No.8 in the second Test.

Cheika said he was considering Queensland Reds No.8 Liam Gill but would also look at McMahon, Ben McCalman and Wycliff Palu.

The Wallabies clash with England in their second test at 10pm Saturday while the All Blacks face Wales at 7.35pm Saturday.
