Vodafone Flying Fijians Head Coach John McKee has announced a 36 member squad that will march into camp today to start preparations for the match against the Maori All Blacks.
Ben Volavola of the Waratahs, Waisea Nayacalevu, Napolioni Nalaga and Peceli Yato are the newcomers in the squad.
The squad has some household names like Campese Ma’afu, Tuapati Talemaitoga, Leone Nakarawa, Dominiko Waqaniburotu, Akapusi Qera, Vereniki Goneva, Josh Matavesi, Metuisela Talebula and Asaeli Tikoirotuma.
McKee says former Bulls rugby coach, Frans Ludeke has arrived in the country and he will be the assistant coach Lineout’s and Restarts.
McKee adds the Maori All Blacks provides an ideal start to Fiji’s Rugby World Cup Campaign and he expects an open and fast moving game with both teams prepared to play a running game.
McKee says the Maori All Blacks will provide a very stern test for their set‑play at scrum and lineout.
The Vodafone Flying Fijians will take on the Maori All Blacks at 3pm this Saturday at the ANZ stadium.
Fiji will then face Tonga in their first Pacific Nations Cup on the 18th of this month at the ANZ Stadium.
The Vodafone Flying Fijians will travel to USA and play Samoa on the 24th and then will travel to Canada where they will play Japan on 29th of this month.
