Ten year old Bernard McGoon passed away peacefully in New Zealand this morning.
Bernard, a class five student of Natabua Primary School, was flown to the Starship Hospital in NZ after doctors in Fiji discovered a tumor in his brain earlier in the year.
Nancy Tuatoko the younger sister of Bernard's mother, Melyn Mcgoon said that when doctors realized that the 10 year old had a since he was small and the tumor grew as he grew older, they gave him five days to live.
Bernard passed away early this morning in his mother's arms.
The family is currently finalizing details before the body is brought back into the country.
