The New Zealand Foreign Minister, Murray McCully, has declined to comment to Radio NZ on the latest call by the Fiji government to lift the travel sanctions.

Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama told Fijivillage News earlier this week that unless New Zealand and Australia remove sanctions there will be no re appointment of high commissioners until 2014.

Moves, however, are afoot to upgrade diplomatic missions.

This year, McCully has met Foreign Minister, Ratu Inoke Kubuabola, several times in a bid to shore up the bilateral ties.
