All Blacks captain Richie McCaw will not play in tomorrow’s night match against Canada due to injury.

All Blacks management said at a press conference today that an injury in McCaw’s foot would see him sidelined during tomorrow night’s match in Wellington.

McCaw will be replaced by Wellington loose forward Victor Vito at openside flanker for this final Pool A match.

Dan Carter will captain the All Blacks for the first time.

Carter had only just heard he was captain, a role he has not held before, and had not yet had time to tell his family.

This may be more worrying for the All Blacks.

McCaw has had ongoing issues with the foot injury since the start of the Super Rugby season.

New Zealand will play Canada tomorrow at 2.30pm in Dunedin.
