All Blacks skipper Richie McCaw added another accolade to his illustrious career in Sunday's win over France as he became Test rugby's most capped captain.

According the International Rugby Board's official statistics, McCaw led New Zealand for the 85th time in his 122nd Test at the Stade de France, surpassing Irishman Brian O' Driscoll's 84 and South African John Smit's 83 Tests as captain.

Incredibly, McCaw has won 75 of those 85 Tests for a 88.8 percent win rate.

The 32 year old loose forward, who made his Test debut in 2001, will have the opportunity to reach another benchmark on Sunday, as he aims to lead the All Blacks to their 13th win in 13 starts this year when they face England at Twickenham.

Meanwhile, a frustrated All Blacks coach Steve Hansen has put the acid on a crumbling Paris Stadium pitch that he felt contributed to another poor night at the scrum office for his side.

Hansen's All Blacks eventually subdued a spirited French performance to rather hang on for a 26-19, two tries to one victory yesterday in front of over 81,000 fans.

The All Blacks will take on England at 3.30am this Sunday.
