Richie McCaw will be added to the bench for Saturday night's Super Rugby qualifying final against the Queensland Reds.
This has been indicated by coach Todd Blackadder.
Blackadder appears satisfied the All Blacks captain will be fit enough to play the Reds at AMI Stadium.
McCaw is expected to be added to the reserves at the expense of Luke Whitelock.
The Crusaders will play the Reds at 7.35pm this Saturday while the Brumbies will play the Cheetahs in the second playoff at 6.10pm Sunday.
