The hopes of current 7s rep Nikola Matawalu making it to the second leg of the IRB Series is now pinned on a miracle.
Having missed out on the chance to represent the country in the Northern Hemisphere late last year due to travel sanctions imposed by New Zealand and Australia, Matawalu is now hoping that his dream to go to Wellington will come true.
For the 22 year old Navy officer, the next leg of the IRB series is very special to him as he wants to dedicate it to someone special in his life.
Meanwhile, National 7s manager Tevita Waqairawai said the FRU has approached IRB on the issue and are awaiting a reply.
Matawalu will team up with twinkle toes, William Ryder in the Sale Sorovaki coached Fiji Barbarians side that will be taking part in the Uprising Fiji International 7s.
Ryder said since his return from injury he has a lot to prove in front of the Fiji fans this weekend.
Fiji Babas will play Wardens at 11.12am tomorrow in their opening pool game of the Uprising Fiji International 7s.
