Flying Fijians halfback, Nikola Matawalu gave one of his best performances this morning as he scored a crucial try for
Glasgow in a powerful 35-17 win over the Ospreys.

Meanwhile, Matawalu is still available for the Fiji 7s team Rugby world cup 7s in Moscow despite some reports claiming that he has pulled out.

Speaking to Fijivillage from Scotland Matawalu said he has not ruled himself out for the Melrose cup.

Matawalu added he wants to give other players a chance and concentrate on fifteens but it is his childhood dream to be part of a world cup team.

The former Suva Grammar school student also said that his next plan is to be part of the Flying Fijians in the Pacific Nations cup.

It was earlier highlighted that the three overseas based players who are being eyed for the world cup which includes Matawalu, Metuisela Talebula and Waisea Nayacalevu will not make the team for the last leg of the world sevens series.

Meanwhile, national 7s coach Alifereti Dere said that Matawalu is still part of the Melrose Cup squad and they have not received any confirmation that he has pulled out of the world cup campaign.
