Nikola Matawalu has forced himself into the starting line up for the Digicel Fiji 7's team's opening game against Portugal tomorrow in the Nelson Mandela Bay 7's.
Matawalu who joined the team in South Africa this week will play on the wing where the coaching staff believe that Fiji lack speed out wide based on last week's performance.
Alifereti Dere has retained his number 1 starting line-up from Dubai which will see the 39 year old, Senivalati Vunibola, Watisoni Votu and James Brown in the forwards.
Emosi Vucago will be at half-back, Osea Kolinisau at play-maker, Joeli Lutumailagi at rover with Matawalu out wide.
Players like, Josaia Lotawa, Miti Nacagilevu, Pio Tuwai and Aminiasi Nava will be use as impact players.
Fiji's opening pool game against Portugal is at 10.37pm.
