Good news for rugby fans as Nikola Matawalu has changed his mind about joining the national sevens team for the World Cup in Russia.

Matawalu earlier said that he wants to concentrate on fifteens rugby and it will take time for him to adapt to sevens.

In an exclusive interview today with Fijivillage Matawalu said he wants to play in the World Cup but he wants to prove himself in the Fiji Bitter Marist 7s - Road To Moscow.

Matawalu added after his club, Glasgow Warriors lost to Leinster in the RaboDirect championship, he decided to come early to Fiji and prove himself in the Marist 7s.
  

Matawalu is yet to confirm which club he will be playing for in the Marist 7s.

National 7s Head Coach, Alifereti Dere said in an earlier interview that Matawalu is still part of the World Cup squad and he had spoken to him.

Meanwhile, the Fiji Bitter Marist 7s will be held on the 31st of this month and the 1st of next month.
