20-year old Josh Matavesi has signed a contract with French Top 14 side, Racing Metro until the end of the season.

This brings to an end his two-and-half year stint with the Exeter Chiefs.

The Fijian international, who was born and raised in Cornwall, has been called in to replace Racing's Argentinean play maker, Juan Martin Hernandez, and will take up his two-year contract from the start of next season.

Matavesi said that it is very emotional to leave the Chiefs, and he has just turned 20 and playing in the Top 14 with a club like Racing Metro is definitely something special.

At Racing Metro he will be playing with the likes of Sireli Bobo, Sébastien Chabal and François Steyn to name a few.

The full-back made his debut for Fiji in November 2009, playing against Scotland, Ireland and Romania.
