Namosi Chief Ratu Romanu Matanitobua has been re-elected as the Chairman of the Namosi Provincial Council at the council meeting underway at Ro Matanitobua House in Navua.

Our reporter at the meeting Venue Penijamini Seru confirms Ratu Romanu was re-elected in the last hour showing that the members of the council still have faith in him to lead the province.

Earlier today, while opening the Provincial Council Meeting, the Tui Namosi Ratu Suliano Matanitobua called on the people of his province to stop begging for financial assistance from the government and make use of their resources.

Ratu Suli stressed that there are many resources within the province which the people must utilize better to move away from depending on government financial assistance for development.
Also to be discussed this afternoon is Namosi House which remains vacant.

Last month the Bose Vanua of Namosi decided not to support the new changes to the GCC Promulgation 2008 and the People's Charter process.

The provincial council meeting continues in Navua.
