Timoci Matanavou wants to be the second rugby player from his village to win the Melrose Cup.

Matanavou hails from Nawairuku in Ra and wants to follow the footsteps of his cousin Sireli Bobo who was a member of the national side that won the world cup in 2005.

Matanavou said he is ready if given a chance he will give his all for Fiji.

The France based winger adds even though he last played 7s in 2008, it will not hinder his performance.

Matanavou is currently in camp with the national 7s world cup training squad.

The Rugby World Cup final team for Moscow is expected to be announced in two weeks time.

The Rugby World Cup will be held from the 28th-30th of this month in Russia.
