Current Acting Permanent Secretary Foreign Affairs, Isikeli Mataitoga has been appointed Fiji's Ambassador to Japan.

This has been confirmed by Public Service Commission Chairman Josefa Serulagilagi who said Mataitoga will also be accredited to the Philippines, Indonesia and ADB in addition to Korea.

Serulagilagi said Solo Mara, who is currently the Counselor in Fiji Embassy in Brussels will replace Mataitoga as Permanent Secretary Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Civil Aviation.

The PSC Chairman adds Peceli Vocea has taken up his post as Fij's Ambassador in Brussels and accredited also to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Serulagilagi said consideration is also being given to the appointment of a new roving Ambassador to the Pacific Islands as the post became vacant following the passing away of Ross Ligairi.
