The loss of some key forwards has forced Vodafone Fiji 7s coach Ben Ryan to get the right mix of players for the national side.

Viliame Mata and Apisai Domolailai are out with injury and Ryan is confident the new players will go up another level at the Las Vegas 7s this weekend.

With the World Sevens Series reaching the halfway mark of the season, Ryan believes the team is well on track in getting the players to know each other on and off the field before the Rio Olympics.

Some of the key players including captain Osea Kolinisau, nippy halfback Jerry Tuwai, highest points scorer Vatemo Ravouvou, Isake Katonibau and robust winger Savenaca Rawaca are part of the team that won the tournament last year.

Fiji is pooled with Samoa, France and Argentina.

Barring any upsets, they are likely to meet Australia, England or Scotland in the Cup quarterfinals.

Should Fiji go past the quarters, they are likely to meet New Zealand in the semifinals.

Fiji will take on Samoa at 1.19pm this Saturday in their first pool match.

They will then play France at 4.20pm Saturday.

Their last pool game is against Argentina at 8.38am Sunday.

The Cup quarterfinals will start at 1.31pm Sunday.

The semifinals kick off at 8.50am Monday while the Cup Final will kick off at 11.57am next Monday.
