The Mata ni Tikina, Nawaka in Nadi, has called on Former Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase to stop making comments against the Interim Government and just come in and join the relief work for the flood victims.

In an interview to our sister station, Viti FM, Kiniviliame Labalaba said that Qarase should pay a visit to the victims before commenting on government assistance.

Labalaba adds that Interim Prime Minister, Commodore Frank Bainimarama and the team from DISMAC have visited the village and helped them accordingly, and are hoping that more assistance will roll in from businesses and religious organisations.

Namaka village was one of the worst hit in Nadi with at least 15 houses completely damaged.
