New Zealand has woken up from a 24-year nightmare this morning to celebrate the All Blacks’ World Cup victory after a nail-biting one-point win over France.

Thousands partied through the night in Auckland and around the country following the tense, 8-7 win over France at Eden Park in which fourth-choice first five-eighth Stephen Donald emerged as the unlikely hero after landing the crucial penalty.

A massive parade will be held in downtown Auckland today, beginning at 2.30pm at the corner of Albert Street and Customs Street before moving along Customs Street and up Queen Street.

Tens of thousands are expected to turn up to honour the All Blacks, who will travel on a flat-deck truck featuring captain Richie McCaw, coach Graham Henry and the Webb Ellis Cup.

This is the reaction from the All Blacks fans.
