Star Rugby League convert Benji Marshall has been dropped to the Blues bench for the clash against the Cheetahs.
Despite a solid showing in his first start at fullback last week, Marshall has made way for All Blacks utility Charles Piutau, who switches from the left wing to his preferred role at the back.
Coach Sir John Kirwan also reinstated Simon Hickey at first five eighth.
Kirwan also said as expected, star recruits Jerome Kaino and Ma’a Nonu will play their first match of the year from the bench.
The Blues meet the Cheetahs this Saturday at 6.35pm.
Meanwhile, the Hurricanes meet the Highlanders this Friday at 6.35pm while the Rebels meet the Waratahs at 8.40pm this Friday.
