Steps are now being taken to ensure that hygiene issues are taken into consideration when selling cooked food at the Suva Market.
At a Health Forum organised by the Suva City Council today, Director Health Services, Nacanieli Kotoiwasawasa said market vendors will now have to follow requirements set by SCC in order to sell cooked food at the market.
SCC has lifted the ban on certain cooked food at the Suva Municipal Market such as those cooked in a lovo, cooked corn, vakalolo, Bila or Fijian Bread as well as Ivi.
The Ban was imposed following the death of a woman earlier this year after it was believed that she had eaten food from the Market.
