A market vendor appeared at the Magistrate court today charged with obtaining money by false pretence.

Sisa Rokotakilai is allegedly charged with collecting money from members of the public promising them that he will arrange visas for their trip to Australia.

Five witnesses took the stand today, where while being cross examined by Police Prosecutor Sergeant Harish Chand they informed the court that after being allegedly informed about the visa arrangement they paid the accused, however after receiving no word from the accused the matter was reported to Police.

Prosecution has requested the matter to be adjourned as a few witnesses are away overseas.
