Marist volleyball competition to be the biggest ever
Organiser Viliame Katia said that it is bigger than the annual Fiji Volleyball competition due to the number of teams taking part in both the women and men's division.
Katia added that a total number of 32 teams in the mens category and 16 teams in the women division will take part in this two day tournament.
Also last night they received a timely boost to their competition with sponsorship of $6,500 from Fosters group and for the first time in the history of the sport in Fiji, the winner in the men's competition will walk away with $1,800 while they will also have other prizes.
Katia said that the other incentive in this volleyball competition is the naming of next year's Pacific Games squad after the final on Saturday.
The Fiji Bitter Marist volleyball Carnival will start on Friday at 9am in the car park at the TFL Stadium.
