Defending Under 19 boys Tuckers Ice Cream secondary school basketball champions Marist Brothers High School have booked their quarterfinal spot today even with one pool game left to play. 

The Red Fire team earlier defeated QVS 32-7 before beating Tilak High School 28-18. 

Marist will play Nasinu this morning in their last pool match.

Other Under 19 boys teams that have booked their quarters spot include Lautoka Central College, John Wesley College and Laucala Bay Secondary.
 
Basketball Fiji representative Laisiasa Puamau said the other quarter finalists will be finalized after the last round of pool games this morning.

Looking at other Under 19 boys results from yesterday John Wesley beat Saint Thomas 26-14, Lautoka Central thumped Jai Narayan 27-12 while Lelean nearly beat favorites LDS 32-31 in extra time, Natabua thumped RSMS 32-11.

Meanwhile, Jai Narayan College Under 19 girls gave defending champions ACS a hard time before losing 12-8.

ACS Captain and national rep Kelera Koyamainavure said it's getting tougher for them in every game.


In other Under 19 girls results, Saint Joseph beat Suva Grammar 18-8, Yat Sen defeated Laucala Bay Secondary 14-12 while LDS thrashed International School Suva 23-12.

The competition continues today at the Vodafone Arena and FMF Gymnasium before the semifinals and final to be played tomorrow.
