The final day of the 2014 Coca Cola Games has started with Marist Brothers High School still leading the boys division while Saint Joseph's Secondary School is leading the girls division.

Marist lead with 7 gold, 5 silver and 9 bronze.

Queen Victoria School is second with 4 gold, 5 silver and 1 bronze while Natabua High School is third with 4 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze.

Suva Grammar is next with 3 gold and 2 silver.

Inia Sili of Grammar won the open boys 3,000 metres this morning.

In the girl's division, St Joseph's Secondary lead with 4 gold while defending champion, Jasper Williams High School has jumped to second place with 3 gold, 5 silver and 2 bronze.

Mereseini Naidau of Jasper won the 3,000 metres event this morning.

Xavier College is now third in the girl's division with 3 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze while Adi Cakobau School is fourth with 2 gold, 7 silver and 1 bronze.

The 4x100 metres relays are currently underway.

The medal races begin from 10.40 this morning with the 800 metres finals. 

The 200 metres finals start at 11.40am.

The 4x100 metres relay finals start at 12.40am while the 4x400 metres finals kick off at 2pm today.


Uluiyata wins for his mother
 
18 year old Batinisavu Uluiyata of Natabua High School was emotional after breaking his own record in the Intermediate Boys 400 metres final last night.

Uluiyata dedicated his win to his late mother who passed away last week.

He said he could picture his mother's face while reaching the last 200 metres bend last night.


Uluiyata's old record was 48.76 seconds while his new record is 48.14 seconds.

Uluiyata also has the fastest qualifying time for the Intermediate Boys 200 metres finals which start at 11.40am today.

He will also feature in the 4x400 metres finals later today.


Ratumudu causes the biggest upset 
 
It was a memorable night for Apolosi Ratumudu of Marist Brothers High School as he caused the biggest upset last night after clinching the gold medal in the 100 metres Intermediate Boys final.
 
Ratumudu beat top favorite Aaron Powell of Gospel High School.

Ratumudu said he has been trying to beat Powell and International School Suva's Jacob Waqanivalu since Primary School.


Vilisoni Rarasea of Marist also took out the Senior Boys 100 metres gold after edging out Manueli Tagaraki of Valebasoga Secondary School.


Seavula wins girls 100m final 
 
Saint Joseph's Secondary School's Sisilia Seavula won the senior girls 100m beating Elenoa Sailosi of ACS last night.

Seavula said she wanted to prove to everyone that her win last year was not due to Sailosi's injury.


Gospel High School's Younis Bese won the intermediate girls 100m.
Bese also has the fastest qualifying time for the 200 metres intermediate girls final.
 

Sili aims for 3 gold medals for his late grandfather 

“I am aiming to win three gold medals for my late grandfather.”

This is the sentiment shared by Suva Grammar School athlete Inia Sili after winning his second gold medal in the Coca Cola Games.

Sili won the 1,500 metres event yesterday and 3,000m this morning. 

He will also take part in the 4x400m finals.

He said his grandfather was always there for him.

Sili said his grandfather passed away last December and the Grammar runner dedicates all his wins to his grandfather.

 
Batisila beats top bet to claim senior boys 400m 

Epeli Batisila of Queen Victoria School beat top bet Kemueli Waqa of Suva Grammar School in the senior boys 400 metres final.

Batisila said his humble upbringing has pushed him through to beat his opponent from Grammar.
